Memories of my mind

Because of the afternoon thunderstorms rolling through the area, I decided to move the lemon tree on to the porch so that the wind, hard rain, and possible hail won't hurt it. At the moment it is full of blossoms and starting to form little lemons. The scent from the tree is unbelievable and oh so tropical. I cannot believe how strong the scent is. The air carries the scent and when it hits me I am transported to another place and time. Hawaii.... I lived there in the early '70's while stationed at Pearl Harbor. It is amazing the things locked up in your brain!!! If I close my eyes for a few moments it is like a mini vacation! I can picture that beautiful azure blue watch and see the clouds drift across the Pali giving those lovely pineapple showers. At night there were those little sea creatures that would glow along the water's edge ( I guess they are a tropical water version of our fireflies), which at night would just lap lazily. We would enjoy walking along Waikiki and listening to the singers who where doing the shows. Cheap liberty!!! Aloha!
