The year of the apple!!
Our apple tree is full bloom this year!!!! It really is a true biannual, so I am glad we don't make a
living off of it.
aThe last two nights have been cold....just at freezing, which had me worried. But the blossoms seem to be fine.
October will be pie and applebutter month.
Blossoms are not the only thing in the tree.....

It's "HAPPY MUMS DAY!!!"
A year ago today we were adopted.... by Mums. She was a year old on March 26 (our best guess), and now she is lovely full grown cat, who is completely and totally spoiled!!!!

In honor of of Happy Mums Day she got a few treats!!!! And believe me she knew they were for her!!!

"The Woods"
Our Pennsylvania wild cherry is full bloom. They do give off a pretty light scent. At one time the cherry was used extensively for furniture. We are lucky to have some Pennsylvania cherry furniture pieces in our home. Sadly the manufacturers have all closed...and now a lot of the stuff is made in China.

When we built our home we were in the deep woods. (today it is a residential development) We transplanted a many of the woodland violets as we could. Today, our yard and beds are full of violets.
We have kept the backyard fairly natural, so it still has the original woodland sense to it. The forest floor is starting to green up and the ferns are producing their fiddle heads right now

Profusion!
Everything is blooming all at once this year. I feel like I am living in a yard and garden magazine. Usually our flowers are staggered, but I get that week of 80 degree (86 degrees one day) just got everything all excited!
The daffodils are beautiful....
as are the tulips...
And one of my favorites are Forget-me-nots. I just let these little guys wander all over the beds....

I'm still here.....
I've been kinda of quite lately....just not much going on.
As it turned our our winter broke in early March, the last storm that first weekend was it. (of course we have had a few days of flakes in the air recently, but nothing to get excited about). Our massive amounts of snow melted in 2 1/2 weeks! We were all amazed as we expected to have snow till now!
Our daffodils bloomed for Easter...right on cue. We have had some very warm days (in the upper 80's!) and that has pushed our trees and plants along. In fact we are about 2-3 weeks ahead with many of our bloomers. Just pray we don't get any frost.
The ornamentals are just lovely right now. Everything is in bloom.
This is our spirea, "Baby's Breath". The flowers are no bigger that a pencil eraser.
