A number of things go with this date:
1) My oldest and bestest friend has her birthday then. We lost contact with each other after my dad was transferred to Maine. 41 years later I found her on "Classmates.com". We got together that summer and had a grand time...mostly we cried and hugged! I never forgot her or her birthday.
2) My brother and family came to visit this weekend. The last time they were here was July 2007, they left on July 19th. And since then we have no guests, so the guest room wasn't used.
During the past 10 months I have torn my house apart looking for my MP3 player. I have searched in places that only the contractor who built this place would have known about. To no avail. My ZEN was gone...I figured I left in someplace. My music all gone...our hard drive crashed in November, so what was loaded...was gone. I just haven't had the time to load all of cd's back on, plus I had nothing to transfer them too. So I have taken to humming loudly.
3) My brother and family came to visit this weekend. The VERY GOOD HUSBAND went to get the extra room ready...and there stuffed between the pillows was my ZEN. (right where I last left it..as I sometimes would go to sleep listening to music).
July 22, 2007 8:07 was went the battery discharged. It has taken me some time and reading on the Creative web site, but the ZEN is alive and well as my music did not disappear and it is playing loudly, ...as opposed to my humming.
I am soooooo happy!!! (And of course I am going to have "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" rolling around in my head all day.......)
My Zen was "gift" from Amazon. I ordered it, they sent it to me. They then sent a message saying they had none in stock and the item was backordered. I called and told them I had one..."I'm sorry but the item is on backorder"..."No, you sent me one".. "I'm sorry the item is on backorder". They never charged me "We have no record of that shipment", "You will only be charged when the backordered item is shipped". At this point stupidity trumps honesty. 3 months later a Zen arrives...they charged me for it, I mailed it back and they took it off. Wasn't that nice of Amazon?
