Yesterday my parents and us made the cemetery rounds to spruce up the graves of our family. My folks grew up in the era of Memorial Day being called Decoration Day. At all the cemeteries a flag is placed on the grave of each veteran. It is always amazing to see the number of flags blowing in the wind.
This is taken from the site of my grandad and his brother, both WWII Vets. This particular cemetery is really lovely, with the rolling terrain, and mostly seeing all the flags. It is always humbling to see how many men..and women...have answered the call.
"On their graves the rain shall fall from the eyes of a grateful nation."
