The last roses of summer...

Summer is on the wane. Our last roses of the season are blooming. This morning I went out and brought two into the house.

The Good Husband is the one who fusses over the roses. They get their daily banana peel (hey...it works).

We had some blessed rain this week. So I took a few shots of them while it was raining.
These are much nicer to ponder on...rather than the snake in the basement.....

How do banana peels help roses? Please include application tips. Thanks!

The Good Husband tears them up into smaller pieces and scatters them around the rose. When the break down, they add potassium. Some folks put them into the soil, to cut down on the sliminess.
