The end of photosynthesis

Cool nights, short days, and the leaves start to change.

We had a branch break off from some high winds and we had it stuck in a bucket. You can see the progression of color change. It is a fascinating and beautiful process to watch.

These are some maple leaves just lying around.....

Now.... we are lucky..... we only have a couple of leaves in the yard...once the leaves really start to fall..... we hope will get a windy day and blow them into the neighbors yard...so we don't have to rake!!!! ok..just joking!!!! Actually the Good Husband keeps after them. Our mower mulches the leaves and they go back into the lawn.

Our mountains are full of lovely hardwoods...maples, beeches, cherry, oaks... and we get the most beautiful fall color. We don't need to go to Vermont!!!! We will soon just go on rides around the area to see the beauty. So there will be more photographs coming.
