"Spookies" by Dad

My dad has been a woodworker, along with other things, as long as I can remember. He made and installed kitchen cabinets when we lived in Maine. The funny part was he built them in the garage...and discovered that they wouldn't go through the door into the house!!! So he had to dismantle them and reassemble them inside. That was in 1966, and the cabinets are still in that house (probably because no one can get them outside!!!). Our coffee and end tables are built from a Maine pine tree that he cut and cured. Mom would go through the "Ethan Allan" catalog and pick out the things she liked and he would make something from looking at the picture. He and I made our kitchen table that the Good Husband and I share our daily meals at. It closely resembles a tavern table that I saw and liked in Colonial Williamsburg. Dad even took my childhood little table and made from the top a jewelry box for me. Arthritis has taken a toll on his furniture building, but, he has taken to making yard whimsies. We have something for every season. This is our Halloween "spookies".
