We had a hard freeze Saturday night So we spent a goodly part of Saturday getting the apples down. All toll.... one tree... about 3 bushels!!!! So I have two baskets of the "good apples"...not bruised, cracked, or really bad in appearance. The not so pretty ones are going to be cooked down as apple butter. I am going to wrap some up with newspaper and keep them down under our bilco door ( that is the door that opens up to the steps leading to our basement). Usually I keep them through Christmas...longer if it doesn't get too blasted cold to soon. So we have been "sharing" with anyone we see. No matter what I give away I still seem to have 3 bushels of apples!!!!
