Here is my little 'burg, and yes it is on top of the ridge, this is looking east. I live in a 'burg with a "g" , the only 'burgh with an "h" in the whole country is Pittsburgh. The smoking plants are "cogen" plants. We are 10 years into a 25 year project, whereas all of the old rockdumps (left over stuff from the mines) are being trucked in and burned. There is enough coal still in the debris to generate electricity. The big plus is the rockdumps are going away and we are getting the land back. When I was little the rockdumps would burn, and it was only sulfur you could smell. The mountain top is sticking up in the second pic is out my back door, I would be facing SSE. Town size... about 3,500. The big Victorian building is the county courthouse. double click to see the detail)

What gorgeous shots! I'm very jealous. I hope to live in a town like this someday, ideally in Switzerland somewhere.
What type of lens do you use?
My camera is a Kodak Z812-ISHD. The shot was taken using the built in panorama mode. For those photographs, I took three shots and the camera knits them together. The lens on the camera is a Schneider-Kreuznach 36mm-432mm.
