Some old firsts....

The round ornament is from my Mom and Dad's first Christmas....1952. They managed to save three boxes...they kept one and gave one each to my brother and me. It's amazing when you think of it, being a military family and all the moving we did, the Christmas ornaments all survived. So it is nice to know that they have hung on all of Christmas trees growing up, and even now as a family scattered about we still have that memory and Christmas bond.
The little angel is from my first Christmas...1954. We lived in Washington DC...I was born at the Naval Hospital. My grandmother Peggy, here in Pennsylvania, bought them at the Penn Traffic department store for $1.99 ( the price tag is still on the box!). They are always the last ornament hung on the tree, on the very tip of a branch so they can "fly". There are six of them, my folks have one. When I was stationed in Hawaii, they sent me one so I could have one. So I've never missed a Christmas with my angels.
