In this spot use to stand a hotel. During the turn of the last century, my town use to be a summer haven for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh being a steel town would get pretty miserable in the summer, especially with the smoke and soot from the mills. So the people with money would come here, in the mountains where it was cooler and the air was cleaner. So we had a lot of hotels. Some are still here, being used as other things now. We are no longer a "resort". The hotel that was on this spot was torn down a few years back, and it has been an empty lot. This year, the town cleaned it up and put in a gazebo/bandstand and landscaped it. It's a pretty spot now.
The Christmas decorations brings life to the corner.
