We stopped at this beautiful orchard outside of Gettysburg on our way home Saturday. I bought a half bushel of peaches.....
I learned my lesson a few years ago when I bought a whole bushel. That year I had peaches and jam jars lined up all over the kitchen. I do some basic canning....fruit and tomatoes. The whole bushel project I found the peaches were riping faster than I could process them. Plus I swear they were multiplying behind my back, I just never seemed to get to the end.

Plus I swear they were multiplying behind my back, I just never seemed to get to the end.So this year it is the half bushel. Peach pie, peaches on ice cream, peach shortcake and Peach Freezer Jam.
Come January, when it is all cold and snowy out...I'll break these out and smile.... summer has been preserved!!!
