In our Sunday travels I was amazed at the area's icicle crop this year...they are pretty amazing. The places that have the best are the older homes and buildings that have little, old or no insulation. The icicles on the old steel mills in Johnstown were a lovely brown. What is scarey are the ones wrapping around the utility lines going into houses...at some point you know they are going to loose some service...cable, phone, or electric. I am glad our utility services are buried underground.
The area is also experiencing a good number of roof cave ins because of the weight of snow. What is bad is we are suppose to get another foot of snow by Wednesday. Our house is a New England style Cape-Cod, with a very steep roof line, so it can handle just about anything.
