It's not the ants....

Peony season is almost upon us. The ants are slurping up the sweet sticky nectar on the petals, which in turn allows the flowers to open. But it wasn't the ants that caught my eye...but the very shiny gold bug. So if the golden ticket was so special in "Willie Wonka"...I wonder what the Golden Bug may mean?????

Wow, what a beautiful beetle! When I read "gold bug" I thought of Poe's short story.
