The Squirrel War continued today.... this morning the Red Squirrel Brigade launched the opening volley. "Rocket" the Red Squirrel sat on our porch roof (right off our bed room window) and screeched and chattered to his lookout buddy in the trees across the yard. Needless to say at 0600 this morning we were up and at the ready. Squirrels were running across the roof. Seemed like we were surrounded.
A short time later we heard the slam of an aluminium cage. And so Rocky II was caught!!!
Later our great Hunter Cat --- Mums-- got outside. She decided she was going to be the great hunter.
So she approached her prey... low to the ground....

slinking, so so quietly .........
until she was right up on him!!!!!
Maybe next time he won't be in the cage!!!!!
