Yorktown

We are doing all of the history sites.... well alright...we are doing our fair share of shopping too! And we introduced our friends to the Peanut Shop.....

Today was Yorktown.... we have been dodging thunderstorms all day....

But I love this shot...a British cannon and looking towards the American lines....

Redout 9 &10...the last major hand to hand combat was here...we won...The Revolution was coming to an end....

This is an old photo of the house where the Yorktown Surrender was signed. This photo is just after the Civil War. The Moore House had barely survived....

Thankfully after the Civil War, the importance of the Moore House was realized and the house has been restored.

The words that started it all......

(One of my favorite quotes... needed today.......)

We got a rousing good cannon shot....

Turkey's being shooed out of a cabin....
