This vacation was more than just that.
This lady is my BestestFriend from childhood. We met just as we turned 6 ( our birthdays are two weeks apart) and started 1st grade. We were inseparable. In 6th grade my Navy dad was transfered from Virginia Beach to Maine. My BestestFriend and I corresponded for a few years, but my family moved two more times and we just lost contact. And so we spent many years wondering about other, but figured finding one another after marriages (name changes) and move would make it an impossibility.
Fast forward to the age of the internet and classmates.com....it was there I found her. Her dad while Navy wasn't transferred like mine and she went to the my "first guess" for a high school. It was from that site that we were reunited....it had been 40 years since we last were in contact!!!!
This summer was our "50th Anniversary" of when we first met. We shall not loose track of on another again!!!!!
See you next time BestestFriend.....they are getting ready to make the southward turn headed to Florida, and we are headed north....
