I would love to say I 've been off on an exotic cruise visiting far away places.... but I am still "here". The month has been quite, which knowing the things that could happen, is ok. So rather than an exotic cruise, I'm sitting here in the doldrums with the sails slack!!!
The end of May brought a freeze....which damaged a good number of our plants and trees. Happily those that lost leaves have struggled to come back and see to be ok. Sadly, our baby apples got nailed and we lost the majority of the fruit that was coming in. So we will have to wait another 2 years for the next apple crop!
Summer has arrived on our mountain top is glorious warmth! 4 months ago we were up over our heads in snow. I truly thought we would still have personal cooling devices (snow mounds!) still along our sidewalks and driveways!
My late grandmother's clematits is beautiful this year. The winter snows totally destroyed the wood trellis, and we thought the plant was a goner. The new metal trellis has proven to be the answer, and this year the vine is incredible!!!! The flowers have 4, 5, or 6 petals on them.
The family is all doing well. My dad had cataracts removed during the last 6 weeks, and at 81 is finding that he does not need glasses. Modern day miracles!
Mums is Mums.... she does everything as she pleases.....
"Mums stay off the table" just isn't working to well for us!!!( including the use of the squirt bottle) If I can't find her anywhere, all I have to do is look on the dining room table and there she is comfy and sleeping!!!!
