The Damage....

The recent cold weather...which frost, freezes and some snow has left it's mark. Our rose-a-sharon looks to be dead. All of the new leaves were froze off. That is saddening as the tree was from my late great-great-aunt. We are just going to leave until next year and hope for the best.

Our hostas were nailed too. The top leaves are all brown and "burned".

This is the bayberry. Our "historic" plant as we got it from Monticello. The poor thing has had a rough year. It is along the back walk....and was buried under the 7 foot mound of snow. We had a lot of breakage...bascially we lost the center. The Good Husband has resorted to taping some the branches back together in hopes to save the branch. Then the freeze....all the little buds don't look so good..... Sigh.....

The worst hit was done to our "forked" poplar, in our Woods. (it has two trees growing from one stump). Most likely it will have to come down

The good news is the apple tree and it's baby apples seems to be ok....
