Our gold finches haven't been around for a while...probably 4 weeks or so. I wonder where they go. But.... a group have returned, and they will stay with us all winter. They have their fall/winter clothes on now. The bright spring/summer yellow is gone.
I did get slightly excited today. The robins left us in early August...suddenly you are just aware they are gone. Today I looked out and there were a whole bunch in the yard..... Does that mean we are going to skip winter????? ( before I could get the camera they were gone.....)
